Previously, he served as the Chairman at Asosiasi Sistem Pembayaran Indonesia.
From 2010 to 2015, he was the Managing Director-Consumer & Retail Banking at PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.
He also held the position of Group Director at PT CT Corp.
from 2015 to 2018.
Mr. Sutanto has experience as the Director-Consumer Banking at ABN AMRO Bank NV (Indonesia) from 2007 to 2010 and at The Royal Bank of Scotland NV (Indonesia) from 2007 to 2010.
He was a Commissioner at PT Bank Mega Tbk from 2015 to 2018.
Additionally, he worked as a Senior Vice President-Distribution at PT Bank Permata Tbk.
He started his career as a Manager-National Sales at Citibank NA (Jakarta Branch) from 1991 to 2000.
He then served as the Executive Vice President-Sales & Distribution at Standard Chartered Bank (Indonesia) from 2000 to 2006.
Mr. Sutanto also held the position of Commissioner at PT Metropolitan Retailmart and PT Trans Ice from 2015 to 2018.
He holds an MBA from Western Illinois University, which he obtained in 1991.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Universitas Trisakti in 1988.
