Helga Rübsamen-Schaeff

Helga Rübsamen-Schaeff has founded two companies.
She founded AiCuris GmbH & Co. KG in 2006, where she held the title of Managing Director until 2015.
She also founded Aicuris Anti-Infective Cures AG in 2006 and currently serves as a Member-Supervisory Board.
In her current roles, Dr. Rübsamen-Schaeff is the Chairman-Supervisory Board at Merck Healthcare KGaA.
She is also a Member-Supervisory Board at Merck KGaA since 2014, a Member-Supervisory Board at 4SC AG since 2015, and a Professor at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main since 1988.
Additionally, she serves on the Member-Supervisory Board at Universitätsklinikum Bonn, is a Partner at E.
Merck KG, and is a Member of Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina eV.
She is also a Member-Supervisory Board at Merck Life Science KGaA.
Starting in 2022, she will be a Member of Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften eV.
Dr. Rübsamen-Schaeff has held former positions as well.
From 1987 to 1993, she was the Scientific & Executive Director at Chemotherapeutic Research Institute Georg-Speyer-Haus and the Managing Director at Georg Speyer Haus.
From 2001 to 2006, she worked at Bayer HealthCare AG as the SVP & Global Head-Anti Infective Research.
She also held the position of Senior VP & Head-Antiinfectives Research at Bayer AG from 1994 to 2006.
In terms of education, Dr. Rübsamen-Schaeff obtained a doctorate degree from the University of Münster in 1973.
She also completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Münster in 1971.
