Prior to joining Brown University as Vice President of Research and Dean of Engineering, Mr. Briant worked at the General Electric Research and Development Center from 1976 to 1994.
Mr. Briant earned a BA in Chemistry from Hendrix College in 1971 and a BS in Materials Science from Columbia University.
Mr. Briant earned an MS in Materials Science from Columbia University in 1973.
He earned his Eng.Sc.D.
degree in Materials Science from Columbia University in 1974 and was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania from 1974 to 1976.
Mr. Briant serves on the board of directors for Slater Technology Fund.
