Mr. Stephan M.
Smith, CFA MBA, is a Portfolio Manager at 1832 Asset Management LP.
He is a key member of the Power investment team, with a particular focus on small- and mid-cap companies and special situation investments.

Mr. Smith worked with Manitou Investment Management, a private wealth management firm located in Toronto, where he was the lead analyst on the firm’s Canadian Equity fund.
His professional experience also includes five years of mergers & acquisitions and securities underwriting investment banking experience with CIBC World Markets and JP Morgan in New York and Toronto, respectively.
He received his MBA from London Business School (London, UK) in 2009 where he graduated with Distinction, as well as his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) in 2002 where he graduated with First Class Honours.
He also holds the CFA designation.
