He began his career and gained his first ten years of experience at Philips, Hager & North Investment Management Ltd., initially as a Co-op Research Assistant, then as Operations Officer, Quantitative Analyst, and latterly as Global Equity Analyst; he provided fundamental analysis, primarily for securities in Industrial, Basic Materials, Energy and Utilities sectors, and co-managed a global equity index fund.
