Mr. Yuya Shimizu is a Director and Chief Investment Officer at Hibiki Path Advisors Pte Ltd.
He has over 15 years of investing experience across distressed debt, Real estate, private equity and public equities.
Mr. Shimizu was previously employed at Moore Strategic Value Partners (MSVP), Asuka Asset Management, Jermyn Capital, Dalton Investments and OTS Capital Management.
At MSVP, he priced more than 800 distress credits as the head of Corporate Investments Team.
At Asuka, he was a core member of the private equity team and executed the MBO/TOB of Foodxglobe, a company who ran Tully’s Coffee chain in Japan.
At Dalton, he initiated a J-REIT activist strategy in 2008 generating significant out performance over the recovery cycle, and also served as an independent director of Suntelephone Corp for two years, a company that Dalton jointly acted to privatize via MBO with management, Bain Capital and Japan Industrial Partners.
He started his career in 1994 at Goldman Sachs Tokyo, first in institutional equity sales division later moving to investment research division to become senior analyst in Steels, Nonferrous metals and Cables sector.
He obtained a BA in Economics from Keio University in 1994 and a Masters (MSc) in Finance degree from London Business School in 2003.
