Hamid bin Bugo is a Malaysian businessperson who has been at the head of 11 different companies. Presently, he holds the position of Chairman of Petroleum Sarawak Bhd., Chairman for Yayasan Kemajuan Insan Sarawak, Independent Non-Executive Chairman at Sapura Resources Bhd., Chairman-Management Board at Sarawak State Library and Chairman at Transnational Insurance Brokers (M) Sdn. Bhd.
He is also Member of Malaysia-Indonesia Eminent Persons Group, Member of National Water Services Commission and Member of Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak and on the board of 16 other companies.

Bhd., General Manager of Land Custody & Development Authority, Secretary at Kementerian Perancangan Sumber Dan Alam Sekitar, Secretary at Ministry of Planning Resources & Environment, Secretary for State of Sarawak Founding Chairman at Sarawak Tourism Board and General Manager at Lembaga Pembangunan Dan Lindungan Tanah (both are subsidiaries of State of Sarawak) and Administration Manager at Malaysia LNG Sendirian Berhad.
Hamid bin Bugo received a graduate degree and an undergraduate degree from the University of Canterbury and a doctorate from Lincoln University (New Zealand).
