Mahmoud is currently the Chairman of the International Vaccine Institute and Director of Sanaria, Inc. He is also a Professor at Princeton University, a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, the Association of American Physicians, and the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
Additionally, he is a former Director of Becton, Dickinson & Co., President of Merck & Co., Inc., and a former Director of Inovio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He has also served as President of the International Society for Infectious Diseases and the Central Society for Clinical & Translational Research.
Dr. Mahmoud holds a doctorate from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the University of Cairo.
