Augusto is a Vice President with SLM Partners in London, where he leads the firm’s impact reporting initiatives and the development of new European investment strategies.
Augusto has broad experience in the agricultural investment sector having worked across asset management, consulting, commodity markets and farm management.
Prior to joining SLM Partners, he was an Investment Manager for Insight Investment’s global farmland fund, focused on the portfolio management of operations and the development of a new farmland investment fund for the firm.
This included the design of the overall investment and ESG strategy and the creation of a US$3 billion pipeline across arable, livestock and permanent crop investments in 4 continents.
Before that, Augusto led the restructuring and succession plan of his family farming business in South America while also working as an external consultant for Soil Capital evaluating regenerative strategies and systems for a large-scale project in Brazil.
Prior to that, Augusto spent 4 years working as a Market Analyst/Consultant for Mecardo in Australia advising farmers and food companies on the implementation of bespoke risk management strategies across livestock, grains, and wool markets.
Augusto is a 6th generation farmer from Brazil and remains involved in transitioning his family business to regenerative farming.
He holds a Bachelor of Agronomic Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil and a Master of Agribusiness from the University of Melbourne in Australia.
