Bill Pauwels joined Thomson Industries Inc. as president and chief operating officer in 1982.
After graduating with a BSEE degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1960, Pauwels started his career at Dow Corning in the Electrical Laboratory as a product development engineer.
In 1963, he joined the company's Engineered Products Division in New York.
In 1965, he joined Loctite, holding positions as general sales manager, general manager, and vice president of corporate planning and development.
During his tenure at Thomson, Pauwels has initiated numerous new product introductions, including a new family of Super Smart Ball BushingTM linear bearings, which provide six times the load and more than 200 times the life of the original Ball Bushing invented by Thomson.
The company has also recently developed a family of patented RoundRail and ProfileRail linear guides for the machine tool and equipment industries.
