Dalmar joined Actis in 2022 as Global Head of Data Centre Operations to work with our global Real Estate and Digital Infrastructure teams on new and existing data centre investments in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Dalmar joins Actis from Amazon, where he spent the last ten years in several senior management roles.
He was most recently the Director/APAC Regional Leader of AWS’ data centre infrastructure expansion and strategic business development.
Prior to this role, Dalmar helped launch AWS’ cloud region in South Africa as the Infrastructure Country Manager and was the head of AWS infrastructure operations for the Japan region.
Originally from Somalia, Dalmar has lived, studied and worked in North America, Asia, Middle East and Africa.
He has had over two decades of experience in IT infrastructure and data centre development, sales and operation.
He lived in Japan for 18 years and, prior to joining Amazon, was managing director of sales and business development for Colt Data Centre, where he helped launch their first hyperscale data centre in 2009.
