In 1977, Jack Turben founded the private equity firm, Chagrin Valley Company, the predecessor firm to Kirtland Capital Partners.
He served as chairman of Kirtland Capital until he retired from the firm in 2011.
Prior to 1977, Jack was director and chairman of the executive committee of Geneve Corporation and general partner and chairman of the executive committee of Prescott, Ball and Turben.
Jack earned his BA from Yale University in 1957 and served in the U.S.
Army.
In 1996, he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Lake Erie College, and in 2004, he received the Dealmaker Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Association for Corporate Growth.
Currently, Jack serves as a member of the board of directors of the Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network (MAGNET) and NACCO Industries, Inc. He is chairman of the advisory board of China Centric Associates.
Jack also serves as a member of the board of trustees of Lake Erie College and University School, and has been Mayor of the Village of Kirtland Hills, Ohio, since 1994.
