Mr. Jeffrey D.
Modell, CPA, is President & Portfolio Manager at New Century Investment Management, Inc. He founded the firm in 1994.
He is also the Treasurer.
He has held these positions since April, 1994.
He assumed the additional positions of Chief Compliance Officer in May, 2004, Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer in May, 2005, and Chief Information Security Officer in January, 2015.
He is the head of the firm's Investment Committee.
Mr. Modell was self-employed as a private investor from 1983 until his engagement with New Century.
He was employed as an attorney-at-law in the District of Columbia and State of Michigan, but no longer practices.
Simultaneous with private investment activities, he has worked as a sole practitioner, and been associated with the Detroit law firm Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn (1987-89) and the Washington D.C.
law firm Ivins, Phillips & Barker Chartered (1985-87).
His experience includes estate planning for complex estates, trusts, taxation, ERISA with emphasis on plan investments and fiduciary responsibility, due diligence and negotiation for investments, environmental law and general practice.
Mr. Modell holds a Juris Doctor Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor, Michigan (1985), where he was elected to The Order of the Coif and Contributing Editor of the Michigan Law Review.
He has a Bachelor of Business Administration with High Distinction from the University of Michigan School of Business Administration, Ann Arbor, Michigan (1981).
