Dillon is currently the Chairman-Emeritus of The Council for Economic Education and a Member of The Business Council.
He previously served as the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of International Paper Co. from 1996 to 2003.

Dillon was also a Director of Caterpillar, Inc. from 1997 to 2010, a Director of EIDP, Inc. from 2004 to 2011, and a Senior Managing Director of Evercore Venture Partners LLC and Evercore Capital Partners.
He served as an Independent Director of Kellanova and Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd. Dillon received his undergraduate degree from the University of Hartford in 1996 and his graduate degree from Columbia Business School in 1971.
