Aéroport Régional de Val-d'Or
Aéroport Régional de Val-d'Or Other TransportationTransportation Aéroport Régional de Val-d'Or is a nonprofit organization established in 1999 that manages and operates a regional airport located 5 km from downtown Val-d’Or in northwestern Quebec. The private company is based in Val-d'Or, Canada. The airport serves over 210,000 passengers annually and functions as a hub for northern Quebec, Nunavik, Nunavut, and remote regions, supporting general and commercial aviation as well as socio-economic and tourism development in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue area. It features Quebec’s third-longest runway, a modern terminal, advanced navigation systems, and extensive parking with electric vehicle charging stations. The airport provides scheduled flights by three airlines connecting major southern Quebec cities and northern communities, charter flights for mining companies and sport hunters/fishers, helicopter charters, car rentals, taxi services, and a flight school. On-site amenities include a café bistro, baggage wrapping stations, and security managed by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority. After merging with the Centre de Transit Minier Nordique (CTMN) in 2017, the airport expanded its logistics and transit services for mining operations, offering rental spaces, administrative offices, cargo handling, secure passenger boarding, and security screening. It supports mining workforce logistics, hazardous materials handling, and provides office rentals, conference rooms, and pilot rest areas. The airport also sells and leases land parcels for aviation-related businesses and serves as a refueling stop for transoceanic flights and hosts firefighting aircraft during summer. | Directeur/Membre du Conseil | - |
