Profil
Mr. Philip I.
Lieberman is a Partner & Portfolio Manager at KJ Harrison & Partners, Inc. He manages investment portfolios on a discretionary basis for a significant base of affluent individuals and families throughout Canada, including their trusts, estates and holding companies.
Given his deep experience in the investment industry, as well as in corporate, tax, estates and trust law, he is first and foremost a manager of risk for his clients.
He brings a holistic approach to wealth management, quarterbacking his clients’ wealth and advising on the issues and complexities associated with it.
By working closely with his clients’ other professional advisors including family offices, accountants, corporate, tax and trust lawyers, bankers and philanthropic advisers, he develops for each of his clients a customized strategic wealth plan in order to optimize each client’s investment and tax strategy in accordance with their individual goals and risk profile.
Prior to joining KJ Harrison, he spent 12 years at Scotia Capital, the global corporate and investment banking arm of The Bank of Nova Scotia.
Between 2003 and 2008, Mr. Lieberman was Managing Director and Industry Head, Industrial Products.
In this role, he was a senior member of the leadership team at Scotia Capital, having senior management responsibility over a team of Relationship Managers as well as direct Relationship Management responsibility for C-Suite executives across the Industrial Products segment.
Prior thereto, he practiced corporate, securities and mergers & acquisitions law at Meighen Demers LLP (now Norton Rose Fulbright LLP).
He received his LLB degree from McGill University and a joint MBA from Northwestern University-Kellog School of Management and York University-Schulich School of Business.
