He served as a Consultant and an Assistant to the Chairman of the U.S.
President's Committee on Science and Technology.
Dr. Gerding received a BSc degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MSc degree in Engineering as well as a PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
