He has more than 35 years of operating experience in the healthcare field, with particular expertise in the clinical laboratory environment.
Mr Flaherty has served on the boards of Emmes Corporation, a contract research organization that partners with government, private foundation and commercial clients to develop treatments for diseases and disorders impacting public health, and Ark Holdings, a nursing home chain which was owned by Behrman for six years before being sold to a REIT.
Prior to that, Mr. Flaherty was President and CEO of Athena Diagnostics, also a Behrman portfolio company which was sold to Fisher Scientific after three years.
Earlier in his career he held a series of senior management positions at Becton Dickinson & Company, a multinational medical technology company, serving as President of Becton Dickinson Medical from 1984 through 1992.
