Roe cofounded Summit Partners in 1984.
During his tenure at Summit, Roe was a Managing Director and member of Summit’s Board of Managers until 2000, a Senior Advisor until 2017, and a board director of many public and private companies.
Roe’s past directorships include AmeriPath (acquired by Quest Diagnostics), Boca Research (NASDAQ: BOCI), First Marketing Company (acquired by Taylor Corporation), Intercommunity Cancer Centers of America (merged with OnCare), Pediatrix Medical Group (NYSE: PDX; later renamed MEDNAX, NYSE: MD), Sunrise Medical and Telebit Corporation.
Prior to Summit, Roe was a General Partner at TA Associates, a Senior Investment Manager at First Chicago Investment Corporation and an Associate with The Palmer Organization.
He holds a BS and an MS in industrial engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA, with second-year Honors from Harvard Business School.
Roe is a former Director of the National Venture Capital Association
