Lookout Capital Management's employs a highly opportunistic equity investment style. They are attracted to opportunities that offer superior risk-adjusted returns (i.e. high upside potential with low downside potential). These opportunities change constantly and, because of that, the firm doesn't confine their portfolios to any one specific investment style. Lookout's Equity Opportunity Portfolios are invested in publicly traded equity securities for companies of all capitalization sizes, as well as ETFs and closed-end funds, with the goal of long term capital appreciation. Portfolios are diversified with the intent of holding, at full investment, from 50 to 60 individual investment positions, with each security, or fund, representing one such position. Lookout Equity Opportunity portfolios are focused on securities trading below their determination of their intrinsic value, as derived through the firm's research process, and investment decisions are tailored with the goal of long term gains and tax efficiency. The firm's income approach seeks to find appropriate securities that offer yields 4% to 6% above the then prevailing 10 Year US Treasury bond. Potential income investment ideas can be individual corporate bonds (typically non-investment grade), closed-end bond funds (CEFs), ETFs, REITs, MLPs, preferred stocks, Business Development Companies (BDCs) and even high-yielding stocks. Income securities utilized in Lookout 's portfolios are freely traded on market exchanges and thus very liquid with transparent pricing. For individual bonds, the preference is to find short maturities, generally less than three years to maturity date at purchase. Any bond holding will generally be limited to 1.0% to 2.0% of the portfolio upon purchase. Lookout prefers to hold bonds until maturity. Lookout's Income Opportunity Portfolios are invested in publicly traded securities for companies of all capitalization sizes, including preferred equity securities, convertible debt securities, traditional debt securities, ETFs, closed-end funds and high-yielding equity securities. Portfolios are diversified with the intent of holding, at full investment, from 30 to 50 individual investment positions, with each security, or fund, representing one such position. This type of account is designed to generate yields of 4 to 6 percentage points above the available yield on ten-year US Treasury securities, with the potential for modest incremental long-term capital appreciation. Lookout's Balanced Portfolios are invested in a balanced manner between the Lookout Equity Opportunity Strategy and the Lookout Income Opportunity Strategy, with the appropriate mix adjusted between 40% and 70% equity exposure, as conditions warrant. Portfolios are diversified with the intent of holding, at full investment, from 50 to 70 individual investment positions, with each security, or fund, representing one such position.
