Mark Cheater joined Defenders of Wildlife in 2003 and currently serves as Publications Director.
Prior to joining Defenders of Wildlife, he was a Senior Editor at National Wildlife Magazine.
Prior to joining National Wildlife Magazine, Mr. Cheater was Executive Editor at Nature Conservancy Magazine and a Senior Editor at Worldwatch Magazine.
He began his career in journalism as a Staff Reporter at the Hartford Courant.
Mr. Cheater received a Bachelor’s degree in Natural History and Geology from Oberlin College and a Master’s degree in Environmental, Health and Science Writing from Columbia University.
