Martin Brudermüller est un homme d’affaires allemand, né à Stuttgart en 1961. Il est connu pour être le Président Directeur Général de BASF depuis 2018.
À partir de 1980, il a étudié la chimie à l'Université de Karlsruhe en Allemagne et a obtenu son diplôme en 1985. Après avoir obtenu un doctorat dans la même université en 1987, il a suivi un post-doctorat à l'Université de Californie de Berkeley, aux États Unis.
Après ses études, en 1988, il rejoint le laboratoire de recherche sur l’ammoniac de l’entreprise BASF à Ludwigshafen.
Puis, en 1993, il se voit nommé responsable du développement commercial et du marketing de l’unité de recherche BASF basée à Ludwigshafen.
Il gravit les échelons, et en 1995, on lui propose le poste de chef des ventes intermédiaires de la branche Pharma Chemicals appartenant à BASF Italie.
Puis en 1999, Martin Brudermüller revient en Allemagne pour devenir directeur pour la production de vitamines liposolubles du pôle Fine Chemicals du groupe.
En 2001, il devient vice-président directeur de la planification stratégique du groupe BASF et en 2003 président du pôle Polymères Fonctionnels.
En 2006, il décide de faire décoller sa carrière à l’international en acceptant une nomination en tant que membre du conseil d'administration de BASF, responsable de la région Asie-Pacifique, le poste étant situé à Hong Kong.
En 2011, il revient en Allemagne afin d’être nommé vice-président du conseil d'administration.
En 2015, Martin Brudermüller ajoute à sa casquette de vice-président du conseil d'administration celle de directeur technique du groupe, responsable des divisions pétrochimie, monomères et intermédiaires. Sa mission sera de développer la recherche de procédés en génie chimique, de gérer le pôle innovation, et de favoriser l’offre de technologie d'entreprise et d’excellence opérationnelle.
En 2018, il est enfin nommé président du conseil d'administration de BASF SE et directeur technique du groupe, responsable des divisions juridiques, fiscalité, assurance et propriété intellectuelle, développement de l'entreprise, communication d'entreprise et relations gouvernementales.
Il est également chargé d’assurer la pérennité de l'entreprise tout en gérant de manière optimale les ressources humaines du groupe.
En tant que président, sa mission est d'assurer la continuité des relations avec les investisseurs, garantes de la stabilité de l’entreprise. Il a également pour objectif le suivi de la conformité BASF 4.0, gage de sérieux auprès des clients. Enfin, son objectif est de développer la technologie d'entreprise ainsi que de participer à l’expansion de la recherche et du développement du groupe.
