Informa PLC est spécialisé dans l'organisation d'événements et dans l'édition de livres, d'ouvrages et de presse. L'activité s'organise autour de 4 pôles :

- organisation d'événements ;

- édition de contenus académiques et de recherches scientifiques : sciences humaines et sociale, technologie, médecine, sciences physiques, etc. ;

- édition de contenus professionnels et commerciaux : sciences et santé, finances, sciences juridiques, commerce, transport, télécommunication, etc. ;

- organisation conférences et de salons de formation professionnelle.

Les contenus du groupe sont commercialisés sous forme de publications papier, de flux électroniques et de CD-Roms.

Le CA par activité se ventile entre organisation d'événements (36,3%), vente d'abonnements (23,6%), vente de publications (14,9%), vente d'espaces publicitaires (8,1%) et autres (17,1%).

La répartition géographique du CA est la suivante : Royaume Uni (5,7%), Europe continentale (13,4%), Amérique du Nord (56%), Chine (4,4%) et autres (20,5%).
