De tous les hommes d'affaires, Arpad Busson est sans doute celui qui squatte le plus les unes des magazines people. La notoriété de ses histoires amoureuses, d'abord avec Elle McPherson, avec qui il a eu deux enfants, ensuite avec Uma Thurman, masque le talent d'un des hommes d'affaires les plus brillants de sa génération.
Après avoir crée en 1992 EIM SA en Suisse, une société spécialisé dans la gestion de portefeuilles, Arpad Busson entame rapidement son expansion. En quatre ans, sa société s'implante à New York, puis à Londres. En 1997, ses actifs s'établissent à 1 milliard de dollars. La performance est belle mais Busson ne s'arrête pas là. En parallèle de l'expansion de EIM Sa et EIM Securities, il œuvre à apporter à ses clients les meilleures garanties quant à leurs placements. En 1999, la gestion de portefeuilles, et les processus d'investissement et de reporting d'EIM sont garantis par la norme internationale de gestion de qualité ISO 9001-2000. Une première au monde.
En 2000, EIM continue son implantation de par le monde : Tokyo, Monaco, Singapour, Gibraltar, Amsterdam, et ses actifs dépassent les deux milliards de dollars. En 2007, les actifs sous gestions d'EIM atteignent des sommets avec 13 milliards de dollars.
