Mr. Barry A. Wilson is Founder, Chairman & CEO at Urban Capital of America, Inc. In addition to his current responsibilities at Urban Capital of America, he is co-founder of HFMC and HFMC II, Inc., the General Partners for Huntington Capital, a federally licensed Small Business Investment Company and Huntington Capital II respectively.
Mr. Wilson also served as President and CEO of Capital BIDCO a Michigan based, Business and Industrial Development Corporation, which he founded in 1989 to provide debt and equity financing for growing companies.
In the year 2000, he was retained by the international law firm of O'Melveny & Myers and established O'Melveny Consulting LLC where he became the President and Chief Operating Officer of the new entity.
Subsequently the decision was made to spin off the operation and he acquired and operated the firm as B. Wilson Partners, LLC.
His venture capital experience began in 1983 as the first analyst for the Michigan Department of Treasury's Venture Capital Investment Division of the Michigan Retirement System.
Following his work with the State of Michigan he joined Newtek Ventures.
He has been a member of the Michigan Bar Association since 1987.
Mr. Wilson is a graduate of Michigan State University's James Madison College and the Thomas M.
Cooley Law School.
