Mr. Henrik Gjerning is a Portfolio Manager at ATP.
He joined ATP in 2008 from BlueCrest Capital Management where he was a Portfolio Manager responsible for designing, building and managing a systematic long/short equity strategy based on a number of multi-factor models.
Prior to this, he served as a Portfolio Manager at De Putron Fund Management where he built alpha models based on fundamental equity factors and developed a proprietary simulation system for emulating L/S equity strategies.
He previously joined Marshall Wace LLP and worked with Paul Marshall in setting up a new screening system and evaluating potential managers and ideas for incubation.
In parallel, he researched and built a European systematic L/S equity strategy.
The strategy incorporated a number of fundamental and technical factors and was designed to be market neutral.
Before this, Mr. Gjerning was a Director and Deputy Head of Global Equities at F&C Asset Management where he managed a variety of global equity products and development the institutional investment process for long only and L/S products, including marketing to clients and consultants.
From 1999 to 2001, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Tilney Investment Management and headed an international team of quantitative analysts and portfolio managers.
The role included managing L/S equity products, discretionary mandates and unit trusts as well as marketing to clients.
He likewise worked at Standard Life Investments as an Investment Director with primary responsibility for quantitative strategy and portfolio construction for European equities.
In addition, he also managed the European component of its Life Fund and European Unit Trust.
