John Michael Flint est un homme d’affaires britannique, né en 1968 dans le Yorkshire. Sa famille déménage en Arabie Saoudite alors qu'il est âgé de 7 ans. Il y suit une scolarité classique avant de revenir en Angleterre où il obtient un diplôme en économie à l’école polytechnique de Portsmouth. Flint a réalisé toute sa carrière chez HSBC, qu'il a intégrée en 1989 dans la branche asiatique, où il a officié pendant 14 ans. Il revient à Londres en 2004 et devient, deux ans plus tard, Trésorier de la banque. En 2008, il accède au poste de vice-président puis de responsable des marchés mondiaux, avant d'être nommé, en 2010, directeur général du groupe HSBC Global Asset Management, la branche de gestion d'actifs. En 2012, il est chef du cabinet du CEO du groupe, en charge de la stratégie et de la planification. Et dès 2013, il prend les commandes de l'établissement au poste de directeur général, en cumulant ces fonctions avec celles de CEO de RBWM, la banque de détail et de gestion de fortune d'HSBC. Il succède en 2018 à à Stuart Gulliver comme PDG.
Marié et père de deux enfants, John M. Flint est également membre de l'Autorité monétaire de Singapour et investi dans plusieurs organismes qui se préoccupent du climat, au sein de la Climate Finance Leadeship Initiative et en tant que Commissaire général de New Climate Economy. Il fait aussi partie du conseil économique international de la Banque Mondiale.
