Melanie Perkins joined Capital for Enterprise in 2009 to assist the Equity Team with the setup and management of The Aspire Fund.
She also takes overall responsibility for portfolio management.
Melanie Perkins originally trained with 3i where she successfully managed and divested from many investments on the 3i portfolio.
She first joined 3i in 1977 as a graduate trainee.
She worked in the regional offices, including Brighton, Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds, on new investments, as well as portfolio management, and left in 1993.
Melanie Perkins spent the next five years working for various venture capitalists on a part-time basis, advising local businesses, and as a non-executive director.
Following a spell with ISIS Capital, she rejoined 3i in September 2000.
Melanie Perkins has an MA in physics from St Anne’s College, Oxford.
