Tan is the President and CEO of BDO Unibank, Inc. He was elected to the Board of Directors on June 27, 1998.

Prior to joining BDO Unibank, Mr. Tan was Chief Operating Officer of the Financial Institutions Services Group of BZW, the investment banking subsidiary of the Barclays Group.
His banking career spans nearly four decades and includes posts at global financial institutions, among them Mellon Bank (now BNY Mellon) in Pittsburgh, PA; Bankers Trust Company (now Deutsche Bank) in New York, NY; and the Barclays Group in New York and London.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from De La Salle University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
