Mr. Diegel has been developing primarily medical devices for 22 years, holding research, development, manufacturing, and management positions in 8 companies and research facilities.
Prior to joining BioMicro, Mr. Diegel acted as Director of Engineering for MedQuest Products, developing a permanently implantable, magnetically suspended continuous flow blood pump and leading a multi-center collaborative team to a new maglev blood pump animal implant survival record.
He has been on the management team of 5 start-up businesses and has participated in the raising of $16.2M in federal research grant and venture capital funding.
He also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the MBA program at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business, teaching project management.
Mr. Diegel is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds 6 issued and pending patents, a B.S.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and an M.S.
degree in Bioengineering from the University of Utah.
