Mr. Bueche is the former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of IMC Global Inc., a multi-billion dollar manufacturer of phosphate and potash crop nutrients and animal feed ingredients, headquartered in Northbrook, Illinois.
He was also a Director of the Company and a member of the Board of Directors' Executive Committee.
Mr. Bueche joined IMC Global in February, 1993 as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Bueche retired as CEO on July 1, 1997 and as Chairman in July, 1998.
Prior to joining IMC Global, Mr. Bueche was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Allis-Chalmers Corporation, a diversified manufacturer of industrial equipment.
He retired from Allis-Chalmers in 1989 following a 36-year career with that organization, and was self-employed as an operations and strategic management consultant until assuming his duties at IMC Global.
Mr. Bueche is past Chairman of The Fertilizer Institute (TFI), is a Director of Marshall & Ilsley Bank, M&I Marshall & Ilsley Corporation and Chairman of the Executive Committee.
He also serves as a Director of WICOR Inc., Wisconsin Gas Company, is a member of the Executive Association of American Industrial Partners Capital Fund, L.P, and was a Director of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
He also acts as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Mid-America Committee and was a Council Member of the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA).
Mr. Bueche received a B.S.
degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
He is a member and past chairman of the Advisory Council for Notre Dame's College of Engineering, and was the 1982 recipient of the College of Engineering Honor Award.
