Japan Tobacco Inc. est spécialisé dans la fabrication et la commercialisation de produits de tabac. Les produits du groupe comprennent notamment des cigarettes, des cigares, des tabacs à chiquer et à priser. Le CA par activité se répartit comme suit :

- vente de produits de tabac à l'international (66%) : 460 milliards de produits vendus en 2021, sous les marques Winston, Camel, Silk Cut, Sobranie, Glamour, etc. ;

- vente de produits de tabac au Japon (24,1%) : 67 milliards de produits vendus sous les marques Cabin Prestige, Seven Stars, Pianissimo, Mild Seven, etc. ;

- distribution de produits alimentaires (6,3%) ;

- développement de produits pharmaceutiques (3,5%) : destinés notamment au traitement de la dyslipidémie, de l'ostéoporose et de l'hépatite C.

68,5% du CA est réalisé à l'international.
