Mr. Thomas A. Knott is a Senior Vice President at Wintrust Investments LLC.
He currently serves as a Portfolio Manager for Wintrust Wealth Management.
He focuses on giving independent investment and planning advice to North Shore residents who are concerned about preservation of wealth.
Working with a select group of clients, he is known as a teacher.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, he works with clients in areas such as portfolio management, investment and retirement planning, concentrated equity positions, stock options, and estate-related issues.
He previously was a member of the vestry of the Church of the Holy Comforter in Kenilworth, Illinois.
Admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1986, he was a prosecutor in Cook County (Chicago) before becoming an M&A expert in Australia and New Zealand where his experiences were the subject of a Harvard Business School case study.
He holds a BS from the University of Tennessee, a J.D.
from John Marshall Law School, and an MBA from Duke University.
He has completed the Investment Consultant Program at the renowned Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
He serves on the Board of Visitors at the School of Communications at UT-Knoxville.He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 Licenses in addition to Life, Health, and Variable Annuities Insurance Licenses.
He regularly teaches Continuing Education classes in Professional Responsibility/Ethics to CFP® certificants and Illinois insurance agents.
