Mendel, CFA MBA, is a President & Chief Investment Officer at Mendel Money Management, Inc. He founded the company in 1989.
From 1973 to 1978, Mr. Mendel was a securities analyst with the Commonwealth Edison Company.
There he was on a team of analysts responsible for managing the company’s pension fund.
He spent time specializing in the energy, financial, metals, and capital goods sectors.
From 1978 to 1979, he was an Investment Counselor with Westwood Management, specializing in managing client funds on a discretionary basis.
Prior to forming MMM, he was an Associate Portfolio Manager with the Institutional Capital Corporation for 10 years, working for the person who managed the Sears pension plan.
At that time, they managed $1.2 billion for 10 large corporate pension plans.
After graduating from Mather High School in 1968, he went to University of Illinois, Urbana where he earned a B.S.
in Business Administration in 1972.
Upon graduation, he moved out west to attend California State University, San Francisco.
In 1974, he received his M.B.A. in Finance.
