Dr. Claudio Soto Gamboa is a Manager of Macroeconomic Analysis at Banco Central de Chile SA.
He has been appointed Manager of Macroeconomc Analysis of the Central Bank of Chile as from May 2008.
For two years prior to this appointment he was Head of the Models and Projections Department.
From June 2002 to May 2006 he was senior economist of the Economic Research Management and from October 1995 to March 1996 he had been an economist in the Foreign Trade Management of the former International Division of the Central Bank of Chile.
Dr. Soto was also an economist at the International Monetary Fund from June 2001 to August 2001.
In the academic field, he has taught courses on Macroeconomics and Monetary Theory at the Economics and Business Faculty of the University of Chile and he has published several articles, chapters of books and working papers on macroeconomics and international economics.
Dr. Sotto received his degree and Master in Business Studies from the University of Chile (1997) and M.A. in Economics and Ph.D.
in Economics from the University of New York in 2002 and 2003 respectively.
