Profil
Dr. Marchon has a BA in Economics from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland (1971) and a Ph.D.
in Economics (1976) from the Ohio State University.
After teaching two years at Kenyon College in Ohio, Dr. Marchon started as an Assistant Professor at HEC-Montreal in 1978 and became a Full Professor in 1995.
He teaches a Business Cycle course titled "Conjoncture" and specializes in Business forecasting.
Even if Dr. Marchon says that forecasters are not seers, he is one of the best known experts in the field.
He is one of the regularly quoted forecaster in La Presse, Les Affaires and also has a regular column in Revue Commerce.
Dr. Marchon specialized in Conjoncture after having teaching Macroeconomics and Public Finance.
He as published a book in Business Forecasting titled Prévoir l’économie pour mieux gérer.
