In 1997, he was elected to the Bear Stearns' Board of Directors.
He began his career in finance as an Economist at Merrill Lynch in 1983.
He was former director for FNX Ltd.
Mr. Winchell graduated from UNC Greensboro in 1978, where he also earned a M.A.
in English in 1980.
He earned a M.A.
in Economics from North Carolina State University in 1982.
