Mr. Richard A. Magnuson is Founder & Executive Managing Director at GI Manager LP.
He is on the Board of Directors at Waypoint Real Estate Group LLC, Duckhorn Wine Co. and ViaWest, Inc. Prior to founding GI Partners in 2001, Mr. Magnuson served as Deputy Managing Director of Nomura’s Principal Finance Group in London, which he joined in 1994.
Previously, he was a Director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch, where he provided corporate finance and M&A advice to asset-based businesses.
Earlier in his career, he worked for Digital Research, the company that created the personal computer operating system, and founded and sold Interactive Software, a software services company.
He also served on the board at Glenborough Realty Trust, Inc., SoftLayer Technologies, Inc., STAG Industrial, Inc., and Sunset Gower Studios LLC.
Mr. Magnuson is a charter member of the San Francisco Bay YPO chapter and an active member of the Hoover Institution at Stanford.
Mr. Magnuson received B.A. with honors from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
