Prior to co-founding Gradient in 1996, Dr. Vickrey was professor at the University of San Diego, where he taught financial accounting, auditing, and financial-statement analysis.
He also owns minority interests in several private firms spanning a wide array of industries.
He is widely known for his research on earnings quality, market inefficiencies, and corporate insider-trading behavior.
He has published articles in academic and practitioner journals, such as the Financial Analysis Journal, the Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance, the Journal of Financial Statement Analysis, and Abacus.
He is regularly asked to provide an expert commentary about financial issues in the financial media.
Dr. Vickrey earned a Ph.D.
in accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1993, a master degree in accounting from the University of Tulsa in 1989, and an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Tulsa in 1986.
