As a founder of Ensemble VC, Gopinath is the foremost data scientist in venture capital and startups and has leveraged his diverse experience to build our successful data product.
Prior to founding Ensemble VC, Gopinath was the Head of Data Science at the Kauffman Fellows VC Fund, where his models helped identify and win top-ranking startups, leading to incredibly successful returns.
Prior to that, Gopinath was integral in building out the Data Science projects at IBM Watson Health and leading multiple large engagements using one of the largest patient health datasets — truly “big data” in every sense.
Prior to that, Gopinath was a Data Scientist at BetterDoctor, where he helped the startup develop algorithms that better match patients with the right doctors.
Gopinath had also developed the metrics used to measure the accuracy and quality of their proprietary data.
Prior to that, Gopinath was a Ph.D candidate at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Earlier in his career, Gopinath was also a computational researcher at Cellworks, where he developed differential equation-based mathematical models to better understand human disease conditions.
Gopinath holds both a Masters Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Systems Biology and Physiology, from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, with an emphasis on gene regulatory networks.
Gopinath also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology with First Class distinction at the R.V.
College of Engineering.
