In addition to his role with SAF, Mr. Egnew serves as Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Outdoor Venture Corporation, a company he co-founded in 1972.
Outdoor Venture is a key supplier of military tents to the U.
S.
Department of Defense and currently employs approximately 250 people in two plants in McCreary County, KY.
He previously served as President and Business Manager of American Bag Corporation and as Vice President of Manufacturing for Camel Manufacturing.
He began his career as an engineer for NASA in Huntsville, Alabama.
He is a former Chairman of the Industrial Fabrics Association International and a current Director of the Industrial Fabrics Foundation.
He is Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee, McCreary Center Community College Expansion; a Director of the Bank of McCreary County; President, McCreary County Education Foundation; and a Director of The Center For Rural Development .
Mr. Egnew has a B.S.
in mechanical engineering from the University of Evansville, and an M.S.
in industrial management from the University of Tennessee.
