Mr. Orsmond began his career as a metallurgist at Western Areas Gold mine in 1994.
In 1997, he moved to London where he gained valuable experience in financial modelling, contracting to companies in the retail, television and satellite phone industries.

Mr. Orsmond holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Graduate Diploma in Engineering Management, both from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst Charter in December 2002.
