Mr. Cherney began his career in the financial field at the Bank of Nova Scotia where he worked in the lending division.
In 1995 he moved to T.D.
Waterhouse and served in several capacities, including acting as a trading supervisor and handling discretionary mutual fund management for clients.
In 1998 he went to work for T.D.
Trust Private Investment Management, a subsidiary of the T.D.
Bank, and conducted discretionary investment management.
In 2000 he joined Laird Norton Trust Company as an Associate Portfolio Manager and was promoted to Portfolio Manager in 2001.
He joined Wentworth, Hauser and Violich in 2002.
He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1998.
Mr. Cherney received a BA from the University of Victoria in 1994.
