In his past career he was President-Europe Region at ABB Ltd. Head-Business Area Drives & Power Electronics at ABB Automation Technologies Management AG and Manager-Electrical Machines Business at ABB Automation Technologies Management AG (both are subsidiaries of ABB Ltd.).

He received an undergraduate degree from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
