Luis Valdich, based in New York, is a Managing Director and responsible for Citi Ventures’ fintech investments globally.
His investments include Socure, HighRadius, Forter, DriveWealth, Loft, HoneyBook, iCapital, Feedzai, Blockdaemon, Forto, PPRO, SmartAsset, Soldo, Warren, Belvo, Fidel API, Octane, Splash, Proxymity, KomGo, and Justt.
Prior to Citi, Luis founded and ran JPMorgan’s Strategic Investments group for nearly 8 years and invested in 30+ companies, notably Square, Markit, Tradeweb, BATS/DirectEdge (acquired by Cboe Global Markets), Air Lease Corp, LME (acquired by HKEX), Pico, clearXchange (acquired by Early Warning and renamed Zelle), Symphony Communications, and Avant.
A frequent fintech conference speaker at Money2020, Sibos, LendIt, Finovate, InnovateFinance, and ParisFintech, among others, Luis was previously a principal at Softbank and consultant at McKinsey.
A champion of diversity, Luis hails from Bolivia, has a Harvard MBA, and loves skiing, tennis, traveling, reading, the performing arts, and bubbles.
