George Vassilaras joined Avant Global in October 2021 and serves as the company’s Chief Operating Officer.
In the course of the last 30 years, George has managed businesses in multiple and diverse industries (fast-moving consumer goods, information technology, food and beverage, food services, health care) and geographies (the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa) and has worked with retail networks consisting of more than 100.000 points of sale.
Outside his professional endeavours, George was an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Institute of Customer Service for more than ten years and served as its Chairman for four years.
He is a member of the Harvard Business School Club of Greece and the Alumni associations of Athens College, Deree College and Harvard University.
George earned a Bachelor in Economics from Deree College, a division of the American College of Greece in Athens, Greece, and Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business in Boston, Massachusetts.
